THE GAME AWARDS: Where to watch?

First created in 2014 by media entrepreneur Geoff Keighley,  The Game Awards are a global video game celebration, recognizing creative and technical excellence by awarding video game players, developers, creators and notable names within the gaming industry.

The Awards Ceremony, held annually in December, is scheduled to air online this Thursday, December 7th, at 8:30pm ET. The awards are filmed in 4K UHD resolution and is broadcast globally. The best part is that you can watch the show for free on most major digital, gaming, and mobile social platforms. You literally can’t miss it.

The video game industry’s biggest night features awards in numerous categories, including Game of The Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score/Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance,  Best VR/AR Game, Best Action Game, Best Sports/Racing Game, Best Multiplayer game, and many more. The 2017 Game of the year nominees include:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,
Super Mario Odyssey,
Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds,
Persona 5 and
Horizon Zero Dawn.

The nominees are selected by an international jury, comprised of 51 Global Media Outlets.

In addition to the awards, the show also gives fans exciting sneak previews of upcoming games, celebrity appearances and musical performances. The show also features an incredible stage, lighting the way for theatrical, immersive, world game premieres and artist performances. This year, The Game Awards have something a little different up their sleeve. The “Orchestra” has been announced; a group comprised of the world’s most talented rock musicians and orchestral musicians. They will give a performance boasting music featured in video games of the past, present and future. It has also been revealed that Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro, and Norman Reedus will be appearing at the event. Definitely something to tune in for if you’re a gamer.
